A Year of Purpose and Meaning

Do you have purpose in your life?  My guest today Zephan certainly does.  He is a great example of a 20 something that found out that his life path wasn’t taking him where he wanted to go and actually did something about it.  Listen to the episode to find out more details, this episode is extremely inspiring and will make you realize you too can do something awesome with your life.

Notes:

  • Zephan like most people in their twenties worked hard in college so he could get a good job so he could…um wait then what’s next?
  • No but seriously, he then decided to quit his job after one of his clients and mentors explained to him its not that hard to be self employed
  • He worked hard for awhile and realized he was charging too little, he was told by his then coach to double his price…he did and it seemed like the clients actually got better.
  • His coach made him realize he wasn’t valuing his time enough, now he charges for half day or full day shoots.
  • If you’re stuck in a job and not sure what to do next this episode is for you.

Cognitive Enhancers and Entrepreneurship Secrets

Improve your brain power and become a better entrepreneur, these are two things that Lucas knows a lot about. In this episode I interview a productive, intelligent entrepreneurial machine and oh yeah he is in his twenties (in fact he is even younger then me).

Notes:

  • Lucas has been extremely successful and one of the crown jewels of his success is opti-mind.
  • He has many different life hacks but the one that really caught my eye (err ear) was that he uses stage lights to really perk up productivity.
  • He highly recommends (as do I) the book How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.
  • Another pro tip from Lucas is to create an MVP and split test to find an idea that works for you.
  • Ultimately ideas aren’t worth anything though its all about execution and one tactic Lucas uses really well is getting bloggers to write about you, he recommends a sight called group Group High

Viral Marketing and Learning to Hustle

Are you ready to hustle, work smart and hard?  My guest today Jacques does both of those, in fact he does it so well he teaches other people how to do it.  Lucky for us he is going to share all his secrets with us for free…this was a great episode and I learned a ton.  It was one of those episodes I will have to listen to again and again.

Notes:

  • I learned a lot about viral marketing and how to be more productive from this episode
  • Big take always on viral marketing is its just as much if not more about the idea, then it is about the post promoting.
  • What I mean is if you have a really good video or something like that, its not that hard to make it go viral, if it’s a crappy video not even Jacques can make it go viral (which is saying something).
  • The plan is very important, from there its all about approaching different media outlets, get the big names, and show them that you have something cool.
  • Another aspect that I really learned from this show, and maybe even more importantly is that Jacques works not just hard but smart…which is the key to life as far as I can tell.
  • He does a lot of cool things but one thing I have started to do and will improve based on Jaques feedback is his Sunday review. He plans out his week, he weighs his tasks and sets goals.  I love this.  I do it currently goals for the week, but I don’t break it down by day…I think I am going to start doing this.
  • Another thing he does that I like is at the beginning of each day he plans out what he is going to do and how long it will take giving an extra 20% buffer for each task. He then enters how long it took him to do the task in float schedule, so he can make better educated decisions later on.

Notes:

  • One of the most interesting things to me about Johnny’s snowballing success is that he got an article with fast company just by commenting on an article saying he has a similar story and listing 3 reasons why, this lead to an article with entrepreneur magazine and it just snowballed from there.
  • I also really like that he offers a bonus if you use his affiliate link, for example if you buy Anton’s course through his affiliate link he will give you a free course of his own.
  • Johnny was almost one of those guys who had to come home from Asia empty handed but he got his act together and worked his butt off…his motivation he didn’t want to live with his parents. What is your motivation for succeeding because if it’s not strong enough you probably won’t succeed.
