  • Pat follows the miracle morning routine for the most part.
  • He tries to focus on one thing at a time, and recommends everyone reads the book the one thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan.
  • Pat recommends when looking for a business focus on your 1000 true fans. If you have just 1,000 people each willing to pay give you $100 a year for material you produce, you can have a six figure business.  That is all there is to it!
  • When trying to get in contact with people that are influencers the most important thing is just trying, because in the end what is the worst thing that can happen? They say no?  Big deal!

  • There were a ton of nuggets of wisdom in this show, below are some of my favorites
  • When you are networking or at any kind of party really; if you had $100 bills to hand out to everyone at the party would you be nervous going up to people and talking with them? Of course not.  That is the attitude you need to have, because meeting you could easily be worth $100
  • You need to find out what is exciting to you and pursue that. Also use that to find out what’s exciting to people that you are networking with.  Not just what do they do, but what excited them.
  • You need to understand that successful people want to share their knowledge with people in the starting stages. In fact it is enjoyable for them!

  • So you want to start a business? Is your idea any good?  One quick way to find out is to ask people.
  • Networking is crucial to the success of your business.
  • See if you can find someone to intro you to people, it helps you sell better. It allows you to have someone build you up, because if you do it yourself it doesn’t mean as much.
  • Get your own personal board of directors, find people you trust and respect and bounce ideas off them, get them to give you inputs into your life and choices.
  • Selling is crucial to the success of a business! And most businesses don’t really push this part of their business.  Call potential customers, leave messages if necessary and keep calling until you get the sale.

Make More Money, Get A Side Biz, Transition into Freedom

Money, Money, Money, we all like to pretend like its not important, but everybody wants more of it.  It is what we exchange for freedom, pleasure and so much more.  There are easy ways for you to make more money right now, no matter where you are at.  In this episode we start by talking about how you could make more money at your job, how you can get a side thing, and ultimately how you can do your new business full time.

  • When asking for a raise, don’t ask for a raise, ask how can I make this raise happen, ask what would it take for you to feel silly not having me on?
  • I think this advice works with all kinds of things, for instance I want to be a guest on some podcasts and I think what I will start doing is asking What do I need to do for you to want me to come on your podcast?
  • Do a strength finder test, its only $10, and it will help you find out what you should do for your side business.
  • Once you find out what your strengths are figure out an idea and find a target demo and see how you can solve a problem for them, ask them what challenges and problems they are facing right now.
  • Then ask them why it is a problem, and then ask them what they have done to try and solve the problem.
  • At the end of the day the key is to figure out you can help a ton of people in a significant way, people will for sure pay for that.

  • Can you automate it, delegate it or batch it? That is the question you should be asking yourself all the time.
  • With automation there is a ton of tools, and truthfully the person who can use the most technology to automate his business or life wins. Think about it, with the computer how much more effective are we as a species well this is constantly happening new things coming out and the first person to get on them wins.
  • Zapier is something I am very interested in and I will start to see how I can use it in my business and life.
  • The other thing Zach talked about was doing a review every Sunday, which is something I do but I want to start formalizing more.  Every Sunday he recommends looking at your tasks for the week and figuring out which ones are priorities.
